Job Skills/Requirements
PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST be a Board Certified, Internal Medicine Hospitalist to be considered for this position or able to become board certified. Also, must have 1 to 4 years clinical experience. Teaching experience is a plus.
Responsible for medical management of 15 to 17 unassigned ER patients.
**Shall perform rounds 7 days on, 7 days off, every 10 weeks, 1 week of nights and every 8 weeks, 3 nights of being on-call. If called in and don’t see patients, you are still compensated.
Hospitalist manage self-pay patrons only if hospital intake volume has increased.
POSITION EDUCATION:
The requirements for a doctor/hospitalist of internal medicine is a bachelor's degree and four years of medical school. After receiving their Medical Doctor, M.D., degree, students enter a three-year residency that focuses on general medicine. M.D. professionals who wish to focus on a particular branch of internal medicine must complete an additional one- to three-year fellowship that provides training in a subspecialty. Internal medicine subspecialties range from allergy and immunology to cardiovascular disease and adolescent medicine.
LICENSURE and CERTIFICATION:
Current Georgia board and certified license or the ability to obtain for the state of Georgia
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to perform physical examination of patients
Dexterity needed to perform physical examination and procedure
