Description We are seeking an experienced family medicine physician who is interested in serving as the medical director of our outpatient urgent care rural health clinic. Experience in pain management is a significant advantage. You will be directing the clinical delivery of medical care and is responsible for maintaining relationships and coordinating activities of physicians and mid-level providers, clinical staff, and operations. We offer an established electronic medical records system, a comprehensive benefits package with a base salary of $240K to $250K base salary and performance incentives, retirement, paid time off, competitive pay with performance incentives, and malpractice insurance. This is a 100% out patient practice with no call or inpatient responsibilities. You'll oversee the development of clinical content in company materials. Job Summary: Perform all duties outlined in physician job description. * Supervise and direct all medical treatment activities and recommend changes to better utilize facilities, services and staff. * Monitor budget and coordinate clinical activities with operations, billing and financial management. * Assure compliance with licensing, certification and accrediting bodies. * Develop relationships with sources of candidates for physicians, mid-level practitioners and other clinical personnel. Provide orientation to new clinical personnel. * Recruit, mentor, and evaluate physicians and mid-level providers. * Supervise mid-level providers in compliance with state regulations. * Establish and maintain work schedules and assignments of physicians and mid-level providers. * Promote physician/staff relationships through individual meetings. * Coordinate periodic physician meetings that include business and CME materials. * Monitor level of care using statistical models and chart review and provide unsolicited medical judgment where appropriate. * Develop, implement and revise policies, procedures and protocols affecting medical practice, judgment and quality of care. * Develop clinical content for training of clinical staff including physicians, nurse practitioners, radiology technicians and medical assistants. * Oversee development of radiology and lab procedures. Assure compliance with COLA/CLIA and radiology requirements. * Serve as a spokesperson for urgent care and maintain relationships with primary care and tertiary providers in the community. Job Qualifications: * Medical degree from accredited university and five years medical experience post-residency. * Board certification in internal medicine, family practice, emergency medicine, or another ABMS recognized specialty. * State and federal licensure requirements. * Understanding of medical coding and billing. * Knowledge of JCAHO accreditation requirements and state and federal regulations including OSHA, HIPAA, blood borne pathogens, and others. * Competent with common PC applications including Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office. * Ability to supervise, train, and evaluate new and current provider staff. The position is full-time (40 + hours per week).
