Position Details: Diagnose and treat angina, unstable angina, acute coronary syndromes, cardio-respiratory arrests, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbations, pneumonias, urinary tract infections, cellulites, de-hydration, acute & chronic renal failure, suturing minor lacerations.
* Minor trauma including hip and extremity fractures, dislocations, lacerations.
* Place central lines, perform lumbar puncture, perform diagnostic thoracenteses paracenteses
* Refer patients, obtain in-house specialty consultations, complete all medical documentation and obtain patient release of information
Experience/Qualifications Needed:
* Must be board certified or board eligible internists with a minimum of 1 year experience with Emergency Medicine
* The contractor shall possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice as a Physician in any State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States.
* Maintain BLS and ACLS certifications
Hours: Provide reliable attending physician services to patients seen in the Medical Emergency Room of the VAMC 7 days/week from for either the day (0700-1900) or night (1900-0700) shifts, including federal holidays. Provided services will be based on the need of the VAMC.
