Pharmaceutical company in New Jersey is seeking a Senior Medical Director for medical research for Edoxaban and Thrombosis. The position will oversee the strategic and tactical implementation of the commercial medical research team responsible for Phase IIIB studies and ultimately Phase IV/MOA studies for assigned products. This position is also responsible for setting the medical strategic direction and has ultimate leadership over a therapeutic team of Medical Affairs personnel. The incumbent must effectively collaborate with clinical teams to effectively support the commercial scientific efforts needed for marketed and pipeline Edoxaban/thrombosis products. Qualifications include: Must have an MD; advanced training in internal medicine/cardiology is highly desired; minimum 10 years experience in clinical or research or academic medicine; at least 7 years of pharmaceutical industry experience; prior experience managing scientific staff and experience with medical strategies and clinical trial implementations is required. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills; particularly strong formal presentation skills; strong interpersonal skills commensurate with the need to work closely with outside physicians/scientists and numerous in-house support groups; knowledge of scientific methods, research design; good understanding of the current legal and regulatory environment are critical; basic knowledge of and application of biostatistics and experience with cardiovascular products are also required. Salary range is from $225K to $283K, plus bonus and long-term incentives.
