Maxim Government Services is seeking a Psychiatrist to perform acute inpatient and/or outpatient psychiatry services required in this contract for beneficiaries of the VA Palo Alto Health Care System, located at 795 Willow Rd., Menlo Park, CA 94025, 3801 Miranda Ave., Palo Alto, CA 94304. Psychiatrist must be state board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
The position entails providing psychiatric evaluations and management of patients in outpatient mental health clinics, inpatient psychiatry unit and/or residential programs. The Psychiatrist supports and enhances VAPAHCS philosophy and goals. They will participate in a multidisciplinary team working with Veterans with mental health diagnoses including but not limited to substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, severe mental illness, and dual diagnoses. The number of patients seen by the psychiatrist will vary depending on the work setting. Workload occurs as a result of scheduled and unscheduled requirements for care.
Recent experience in the Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care System is preferred. Experience working in an inpatient setting, residential program setting and treatment of substance abuse disorder is desirable.

Qualifications:
Psychiatrist must be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Psychiatrist must also be eligible for or will have ABPN Certificate of Added/Qualifications in Addiction Psychiatry and/or Certification by the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
Must be certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and pass Federal Background Check.
Licensed in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of
Columbia and be licensed to practice Psychiatry in the State of California.
