Description The Arora Group, Inc. (AGI) has immediate openings for board certified Emergency Medicine Physicians to work in the Emergency Department and Convenient Care Clinic at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, near Jacksonville, NC. These physicians will supplement the active duty Navy military physicians assigned to the Emergency Department. The Emergency Department operates 365 days a year, 7 days a week, 24 hours per day. The Medical Director will schedule the contract Emergency Medicine Physicians to ensure adequate coverage of all department hours. The contract EM physician will be on duty in the department for about 40 hours per week for a full-time physician, or 20 hours per week for a part-time physician, except during periods of approved leave or for holidays. The contract Emergency Medicine Physician will not be required to provide services (on-site service plus approved leave and holidays) in excess of 160 hours per 4-week period. As part of the physician's normal hours, services will be required on the day of observance of Federal holidays.

DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
  • Triage and provide appropriate emergency medical care to patients.
  • Provide a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the hospital's Commanding Officer. 
  • Technically direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of, other health care professionals seeing patients within the scope of their clinical privileges or responsibilities.
  • Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
  • Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable.
  • Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
