Catalyst Professional Services, Inc is looking for Emergency Medicine Physicians to fill 2 positions at the Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL. Period of Performance is 1 February 2011 (once credentialing is completed) through 31 January 2012. Services are anticipated to be needed in 2012.
The Emergency Room is open 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including weekends and holidays. The provider will be expected to rotate night shifts every 2 months and provide services 2 weekends out of every month. The provider will not exceed 80 hours per 2 week period. Paid time off is accrued and Federal holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMERGENCY PHYSICIANS
1. EDUCATION: Successfully completed a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from a school approved by the Liaison Committee on medical Education of the American Medical Association or the American Osteopathic Association or possess certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Successfully completed a post-graduate medical training program in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).
2. LICENSURE: Possess and maintain a current unrestricted license to practice as a physician in any of the 50 United States, the District of Columbia; the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.
3. CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine approved by the American Specialty Board or the American Osteopathic Association. Have and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted DEA certificate. Have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification. The American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers and American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer are the only two programs accepted.
4. EXPERIENCE: Shall have a minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 2 years as a full-time Physician in the ER. The experience requirement is waived if an emergency medicine residency was completed within 1 year prior to submitting credentials to Naval Hospital Pensacola. A physician who has not passed an American Residency Program must have passed the written portion of the certification of the American Board of Emergency Medicine not earlier than 2 years prior to submission of credentials to the Naval Hospital and must present evidence that he or she is currently scheduled for or has applied for the oral portion of the examination. Further, the physician must have 3 years of experience as a full time physician within the last 4 years in the ER.
