Description The Arora Group, Inc. (AGI) has an immediate opening for a Family Practice Physician to provide care in the Family Practice/Primary Care Clinic at Naval Health Clinic Charleston, SC (Goose Creek, SC). This position provides medical care to Active Duty military members, their family members and retirees. These Family Practitioner positions are full time, working 40-hour weeks, Monday through Friday, between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Services normally are not required on holidays. In addition to the above hours, Family Practitioners rotate with other physicians to provide services on Saturdays between 8:00 and 2:00 p.m. The schedule for the Saturday services will be provided 6 weeks in advance.
 
The Physicians shall share an after-hours telephone watch with other providers. The watch will rotate equitably among the contractor provided Family Practitioners and other government providers. The Physicians shall receive calls from enrolled/assigned patients during hours their Primary Care Manager Clinic is closed. The Physicians shall do telephone assessments and direct patients to the after-hours Urgent Care Clinic or a local Emergency Room as necessary. The Physicians are not required to report to the hospital to treat patients but are required to document care in accordance with medical treatment facility procedures. Supervision during an after-hours telephone watch for the contract provided Family Practitioners will be available via phone by the Senior Medical Officer or designated Government representative.

DUTIES OF THE FAMILY PRACTICE PHYSICIAN:
  • Provide a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by the clinic's Commanding Officer.
  • Technically direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of, other health care professionals seeing patients within the scope of their clinical privileges or responsibilities.
  • Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.
  • Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
  • Order diagnostic tests as applicable.
  • Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.
