ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR / PHYSICIAN II
Are you bilingual in English-Spanish, and a practicing Family Physician? This is a New Community Clinic opportunity. Join our staff of exceptional medical providers.
In coordination with the Chief Medical Officer, as the Associate Medical Director you will be responsible for the development, implementation and assessment of quality health care services for La Clinica Oakley clinic. You also will provide clinical supervision for physicians, mid-level practitioners, nurses, health educators and medical assistants; in addition to related administrative responsibilities. Additionally, you will provide direct patient care at the Oakley site.
Physician II: . You will be responsible for providing comprehensive outpatient medical services to La Clinica patients of all ages to determine the appropriate regimen. Oakley provides comprehensive outpatient medical services to La Clinica patients of all ages, and the clinic provides family planning, prenatal, and GYN services to women. You must be also be available for evening and Saturday clinics.
Description of Your Duties and Responsibilities:
Associate Medical Director is responsible for all of the below including:
• Clinically supervises physicians, mid-level practitioners, nurses and lead medical assistants, including chart review, co-signing, consultation, and case conferences.
• In coordination with the Chief Medical Officer performs administrative responsibilities which include recruitment, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of professional personnel; and ongoing development and review of protocols to ensure optimized care for patients.
• Directs quality assurance and improvement activities at the Oakley site, including the development and measurements of goals and efforts to address identified problems.
• Participates in agency-wide QA Committee and QA activities as needed.
• Acts as a medical resource for all clinical and non-clinical staff. Additionally provides consultation on the assessment, management and treatment of complicated cases.
• Represents Oakley to the professional medical community and other institutions as requested and as necessary, within guidelines provided by the corporation.
• In conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer provides perspective on any/all issues of concern to the sites and/or agency. This includes input on strategic planning, clinical operations, program development and grant management.
• Schedules and facilitates regular provider meetings.
• Attends Associate Medical Director meetings and site staff meetings as appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.
Physician II:
• Serves as part of provider team for La Clinica Oakley by providing routine, acute, urgent, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative medical care to patients of all ages and determines appropriate regimen as needed.
• Provides prenatal, postpartum as well as gynecological care to patients. Screens and monitors the management of stabilized chronic conditions, asymptomatic and well patient care.
• Initiates referrals to medical specialists as required.
• Provides consultation for mid-level practitioners on the assessment, management and treatment of complicated cases, chart review, co-signing, and case conferences.
• Assists in developing and implementing procedures and protocols to facilitate delivery of comprehensive health care.
• Participates in staff conferences, staff meetings, quality assurance activities and QA Committee as needed.
• Supervises medical assistants by providing patient consultation as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.
