Description Physician shall become certified before conducting exams. No medical treatment will be provided. These exams shall provide the required information from the requested AMIE worksheet(s) including any additional exams required. The exam reports shall adequately address any requested medical opinion. Contract physician will be provided with written, video and audio educational materials and shall self study in preparation to successfully pass written examinations to become a certified examiner. Contract physician will be permitted to shadow other C&P examiners prior to completing their first examinations and receive hands-on orientation to the computer systems. This entire process is not expected to take longer than two weeks. Contract physician will be provided with an individual access/verify code to the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS) and shall not share access/verify codes with anyone, shall not permit anyone to use a system under their access/verify codes, and shall not leave the terminal on-line when unattended. All individuals with access to VA computer systems are required to undergo a background investigation. Contract physician shall be required to perform exams eight continuous hours between the hours of 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. The number of veterans scheduled will vary and shall be based on the number of body systems to be examined. Contract physician shall have the veterans identify themselves by stating their name and social security number prior to initiating the exam.
