D.O. Faculty position for Family Medicine Residency program

Description Family Medicine - Doctor of Osteopathy Houston Healthcare is recruiting a Doctor of Osteopathy for Houston Healthcare’s new Family Medicine Residency Program, which is an outreach of The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. This position will serve as Family Medicine Physician Faculty (Full-time) for the Residency Program and will be employed by Houston Healthcare with full benefits. Qualifications • Doctor of Osteopathy or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from an AOA accredited college of osteopathic medicine • Board Certified American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians (ACOFP) • 3 years post residency, clinical experience • Preferred past experience as Family Practice faculty and/or program Assistant Director • Must be a member in good standing among all professional and governmental organizations, active State of Georgia Medical License • Current and permanent legal rights to work in the U.S. • Must possess an interest and commitment towards academics, clinical teaching, and physician leadership • Must possess working knowledge of osteopathic principles and the ability to demonstrate proficiency in manipulation • Must possess excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills Overview • Teach and supervise the clinical experience and perform patient care in both the inpatient and ambulatory clinic setting • Assist the Family Medicine Program Director in the successful implementation of the program in accordance with required accreditation and healthcare system guidelines and standards General Duties and Responsibilities • Precept and mentor Residents, medical students, other healthcare students, and staff • Plan, organize and lead departmental strategies, goals and operations • Active participation in hospital Medical Staff meetings, committees and quality/CME activities • Active participation and leadership in national and statewide professional associations and other community organizations • Management and accountability for fiscal affairs of the department • Successful completion of all hospital required training and other regulatory requirements.
