Job/Practice Description:
Outpatient care clinic with an average of 10 -15 patients per day and no on-call responsibility. Pediatric Services: conducts physical examinations of infants and children in an outpatient service. He determines need for X-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests and interprets examination findings and test results. Prescribes and administers treatment, such as treatment for colds, infectious diseases and other children's diseases, more common allergies, emergency treatment for burns, removal of foreign particles from eyes, ears, and nose. Performs emergency treatment in cases of serious injury or illness and recommends arrangements for hospitalization and surgery. Outpatient Service Family Practice: performs a range of medical duties covering general practice with the exception of treatment of patients with serious or prolonged illness, who may be with Clinical Director approval referred to other facilities for further diagnostic and treatment services. Physician examines patients reporting to this outpatient clinic and makes diagnoses and administers appropriate treatment. The majority of patients are ambulatory and respond quickly to treatment. The duties consist primarily of treating head colds and sinus difficulties, simple allergies and skin diseases, indigestion, suturing minor cuts, draining abscesses, etc. Orders laboratory tests and X-rays necessary to complete medical facts on the cases, such as blood counts, urinalyses, sedimentation rates, chest X-rays, Kahn, etc. Whenever assistance is required in determining the correct diagnoses or treatment consults with Clinical Director for referral to other facilities is available. Physician examines patients who may have venereal disease. Takes specimen smears and blood serology tests, and performs a physical examination, or may conduct such an examination after test results are received and prove to be positive. If laboratory tests are positive and are substantiated by clinical symptoms or by history of contacts, treats patients except those having most aggravated conditions or those with apparent complications. The physician makes arrangements with the Clinical Director for those having latter conditions to be referred to other facilities. Physician examines and provides medical care to women during pregnancy and post delivery care. The physician also provides medical services for children including periodic physical examinations, immunization against common contagious diseases, treatment for minor diseases and injuries, and advice to parents on diet, hygiene and behavior problems. The physician may also conduct group discussions on matters pertaining to maternal and infant hygiene, care and feeding of infants, proper nutrition during pregnancy, and related subjects.
Work Schedule:
Typical duty hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of Federal holidays.
Qualifications:
Have an unrestricted license in a US state, territory or US commonwealth; Tuberculosis: Annual PPD or Chest X-ray, if there is a history of positive skin test. Documentation of two (2) MMR (Measles, Mumps & Rubella) vaccinations or proof of immunity. Contractors born before 1957 do not need MMR or proof of immunity. Documentation of two (2) Varicella
