This Family Practice physician will not do OB and for physician with experience, the salary is very high. The clinic is located about one hour from kansas city and Joplin, Missouri. This is a beautiful lake community.
Hospital is searching for a family practice physician for the a traditional inpatient/outpatient practice in a newly constructed rural health clinic . The practice is a large one, and they are interested in adding a Family Practitioner that wants to be busy from day one.
This is a 66-bed sole-community provider hospital. Services include the full gamut of primary care services, obstetrics, general surgery, 44-bed med surg, 4-bed ICU, cardiac rehab, ER, radiology (including an in-house MRI), laboratory, physical therapy, counseling, home health and hospice and emergency services. There are nursing homes in all of major surrounding towns, so that is available to area physicians should they wish to care for nursing home patients, too.
Currently, the medicine call would be 1/5, unassigned call is 1/8. When another physician is added, the call ratio will change. Average daily census at the hospital hovers at about 15, with peak times during cold and flu season. Physicians usually have 20 to 30 patients a month in the hospital.
SALARY
The position is located at an outpatient Clinic and it is Monday through Friday. No OB is required. There would be inpatient rounds and nursing home rounds. Also a separate contract for some ER work. Base is 150,000 to 160,000.
The salary structure is simple, and can be quite lucrative. The sky is really the limit for any of the physicians. If you see about 22 patients a day, you will reach bonus in the clinic, and depending upon the physicians personal practice style, you can see as many patients as you wish. All of the family practice physicians are making over $200,000 a year with bonus. There are plenty of patients to be seen in our service area. You are not required to manage the clinic or the billing in the clinic, and you can be as involved as you wish. The hospital is responsible for clinic collections, so you dont have to worry about that. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, and the providers see patients from 9 to 5. In addition to the guaranteed salary, benefits include 5 weeks of paid time off (to be used at your discretion), a $5,000 CME allowance, six paid holidays, life, health, dental, short and long-term disability insurances, paid medical malpractice insurance, and a 403-b retirement plan (with some matching after 2 years).
The hospital is very progressive. The hospital has PACS and in-house MRI. EMR is being added to each clinic. Plans are underway for an 18 million 38,000 square foot addition to the hospital that will create a new ER, radiology suite, and second floor with 24 private patient rooms. Groundbreaking will occur in the next few months.
Population is about 2,500 people, and they have all the traditional small town amenities, quaint downtown shopping, local weekly newspaper, Wal-Mart Supercenter, County Fair and other festivals. A 9-hole golf course, tennis courts and swimming pool, banks, several restaurants and churches of many faiths. A good deal of outdoor activity available, too, including horseback riding, hiking trails, rivers for canoeing, kayaking or fishing and several state and national parks.
