Provide outpatient primary care to new and established patients. In general the care will be comprehensive with an emphasis on preventive medicine and adequate surveillance for complications of disease and of treatment. Required to see approximately 15 scheduled established patients per day and all unscheduled patients that walk-in if they are assigned to the cohort of patients the contract physician is covering. A lighter schedule is permitted for the first week. After that the contract physician shall be expected to get up to speed and keep pace within an 8 hour workday. New patient appointments are 60-minutes and established patients are 30-minutes. The need for overtime should be a rare occurrence and be needed only for an urgent patient care issue and not routine duties. Contract physician shall have the patients identify themselves by stating their name and social security number prior to initiating treatment. Physician shall keyboard a pertinent progress note into the computerized patient record system. Physician shall electronically enter all doctor’s orders, consultation referrals, and requests for x-rays and lab work using CPRS. Approved order sets shall be used, as appropriate, for disease specific conditions, e.g. pneumonia, ACS, etc.
