Provide physician services to individuals at a Mental Health Facility in an interdisciplinary treatment environment. Physician/Psychiatrist must be able to work with other professionals to integrate services for people with disabilities. Services are a part of an interdisciplinary team process; therefore the contracted Services shall meet the best practice standards in Physician/Psychiatric.
* A psychiatrist will complete Comprehensive Neuropsychiatric Evaluations
* A psychiatrist will complete quarterly psychiatric evaluations to include Mental Status Examinations and review of medications.
* Examine/evaluate persons to diagnose medical conditions and determine status
* Develop medical treatment plans and assume responsibility for plan execution.
* Conduct individual medical examinations/evaluations, prescribe medications and determine when patient referral is necessary
* Consult with other physicians and specialist to coordinate quality medical treatment.
* Provide instructions to staff on a variety of medical issues and concerns.
* Complete medical records/reports to document treatment provided. Provide psychiatric/physical evaluations for Diagnostic and Evaluation Clinic. Comply with all Glenwood Resource Center policies/procedures and protocols
* Will write and sign orders for medications and any associated laboratory or other testing
* Will obtain informed consent from family/guardian for new medications and/or changes in current medication regime. Attend regularly scheduled medical staff meetings. Will be a member of other committees as directed.
