The opportunity is to become employed by the Hospital as a full time General Surgeon with a subspecialty in breast surgery. The breakdown of General Surgery versus Breast work is heavily dependent on the interest and desire of the incoming candidate. A majority of breast cancer patients are being referred to tertiary level care. The hospital has a new cancer treatment center to support the surgeon. Currently, there are four (4) full-time general surgeons practicing at the hospital, with one retiring mid-year.
The hospital is looking to recruit to replace the retiring physician, desire to increase its trauma level designation, and because of the increasing demand in the area as well as the higher volume of very sick patients that have continued to present.
The hospital has a 5-room Operating Suite. The hospital has an anesthesia department of three (3) MD?s and five (5) CRNA?s. A well trained hospitalist staff of 3 physicians (adding a 4th) is available to cover the ICU 24/7. The ICU beds are routinely full year round. In the outpatient setting, there are multiple options for space including new construction. Call will be 1:4.
Compensation and Benefits
Based on our agreement, the incoming physician will be provided with the following:
? $368,000 minimum base salary based on MGMA national average
? RVU based incentive structure (estimated $60,000-$100,000 after 1 year)
? $25,000 sign on bonus
? Relocation reimbursement up to $15,000
? 6 weeks of vacation (30 days) plus $3,000 stipend for CMEs
? 403b and executive retirement plan (combined $35,000 per year)
? Occurrence based malpractice coverage
? Health and additional benefits
