Lincoln Medical & Mental Health Center, located just 15 minutes from NYC, is an acute care teaching hospital academically affiliated with Weill-Cornell Medical College. Responsibilities:
•Will provide coverage as determined by the Chairman of the Department of Surgery. This will include night-time and weekend coverage
•The house physician will integrate with the on-call team to provide appropriate coverage of all in-house patients covered by the general surgery service, as well as responding for requests for consultation. Specific assignment for a particular shift will be at the discretion of the on-call attending surgeon or designee
•The house physician will report to, and be responsible to, the on-call attending surgeon
•The house officer will meet the requirements for work hour documentation as set forth by the employer (PAGNY)
•The house officer will participate in departmental quality efforts and performance improvement programs
Qualifications:
•Completion of, at least, 2-years of general surgery training
•Possess a current NYS Medical License
•Possess current certification in ACLS and ATLS
•Maintains membership on the Medical Staff by continuously meeting the qualifications, standards, and requirements set forth in the bylaws of the medical staff
