Hours: 7:30 – 4:30
Duties:
• Conduct clinical interviews of patients; formulates diagnostic impressions and recommendations for treatment/case disposition.
• Conduct clinical neuropsychological evaluations of patients for purpose of determination of fitness for duty or medical board disposition. Administers, scores, and interprets neuropsychological and personality tests and writes evaluation reports.
• Conduct brief cognitive and personality evaluations of patients and writes evaluation reports.
• Conduct meetings with patient and family members to provide feedback on the results of psychological/neuropsychological evaluation and recommendations.
• Provide brief psychotherapy services to patients.
• Schedule patient appointments, follow-up appointments, reschedule in the case of cancellation.
• Provide consultation in the area of expertise of psychology and neuropsychology to other staff members in the Department of Behavioral Medicine, to staff members of other disciplines within the hospital, to legal authorities and to commanders.
• Communicate and coordinate with administrative personnel as need for medical board cases and will serve as a member of multidisciplinary treatment teams.
• Provide cognitive and behavioral training to overcome physical handicaps after trauma, debilitating medical condition, or use of prosthetic devices.
• Assist and participate in special even informational seminars.
• Maintain accurate and current notes in both the Department of Behavioral Medicine records and patient medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.
• Provide psychological procedures and techniques in the evaluation and treatment of medical conditions appropriate for clinical/counseling psychology intervention.
