Description We are seeking a gynecological oncologist for one of the top nationally renowned teaching hospitals in the U.S. This private, non-profit medical facility has over 600 beds and supports residency-training programs in family practice, general surgery, internal medicine, OB/GYN and pediatrics with more than 100 medical residents in training. It is designated as a Level I Trauma Center and serves an estimated service population of 800,000 residents. It has earned five-star national ratings for its training programs and was named one of the top one hundred hospitals in the nation. The compensation package will exceed most other opportunities being offered today – the potential is still untapped. It has a state-of-the-art infusion center in the new cancer facility. Chemotherapy is an untapped treatment option. The hospital has Da Vinci Robotics (which needs to be part of the practice). There are approximately 900-1,000 procedures to be shared over the course of a year. This opportunity offers an option of taking night call that pays for additional income. This historic “Old South” city undoubtedly has a “New Southern” attitude – a blend of progressive, forward thinking with a true respect for its history. It is a unique city where culture, commerce and community flourish. This city is the economic engine of the region with a diverse population, low cost of living and an exceptional quality of life. It is home to many state museums and attractions, historical landmarks, festivals, concerts and sporting events. The desirable climate allows families to enjoy recreational activities in the numerous parks around the area. These parks include amenities for baseball and football games, walking and nature trails, swimming, picnic areas, gymnasiums, and conference areas. Other leisure time activities include water sports on large area lakes, fishing, hunting, tennis, and golfing on several private and public courses. Its housing market is one of the most diverse in the country. Residents enjoy living downtown in historic homes and loft apartments, well manicured established neighborhoods with tree lined streets and sidewalks, as well as modern family oriented subdivisions. There is a spectacular collection of restored antebellum and Victorian homes. You may also choose the peace and quiet of suburban living with spacious homes and country club or lakefront property with acreage. The school system is excellent and features magnet schools in fine arts, law, engineering, medical, math, science and language. There are several options for private schools varying in size, affiliation, cost, and grade levels. There are nine colleges and universities in the area, which play a vital economic role and enhance the aesthetic quality of life. This location possesses a real community spirit that will make you feel welcomed and at home.
