background ATLS, ACLS, NRP and PALS required.
Practice:
To assist in staffing hospital ED and Inpatient medicine services. 13k visits per year, very little major trauma.
Willing to work 12 hr shifts in ED and 8-5 coverage for Inpatient service, (not at same time)
Current ED staffing includes PA?s and two FT physicians, the balance of the time is provided by Members of the active Medical staff.
Income will be based on experience and training, approximately $115.00 per hour, willing to offer full benefits such as Health insurance, retirement plan, CME allowance, paid time off, full relocation benefits etc.
Our ED providers assist our Active Medical staff by writing admission orders, responding to in-house codes, serving as Medical Examiner, and offering brief interpretations of plain film X-Rays for ED patients.
Hospitalist need is Monday through Friday hours 8:00 am ? 5:00 pm.
Typical day of work for Inpatient
8:00 arrive at facility and receive report form physician who covered the previous night or weekend.
Report will consist of any interaction needed during the night to manage any of the service patients., any patients admitted during the night from the ED who will need H&P?s Communicate with the patients regular physician to determine if any unusual needs will need to be addressed while the patient is hospitalized.
Rounding, anticipate rounding on 5-6 patients per day plus performing admission functions on any patients who came through the ED the night before.
Participating in the discharge team function to discuss currently admitted patients with anticipated discharge dates and any special needs the patient will have to facilitate discharge. One function of the patient discharge will be to communicate with the patient?s regular physician to inform them of any unusual needs the patient may have prior to their follow-up appointment.
Physician will be expected to round on patients in the critical care area, lines are placed by the General Surgeons, vent management is in conjunction with Respiratory Therapy.
Once these duties are completed the physician will be asked to assist in the ED moving patients through the system. New admission seen in the ED could be taken by the Hospitalist to complete the work-up establish orders and offer the best patient care possible.
In the afternoon the physician should return to the facility and perform a round on any inpatients so that a checkout report may be prepared and delivered to the physician covering for the service that night/weekend.
The Hospital does utilize an electronic health record. The Physician utilizes a CPOE system designed and install by Patient Keeper. The Patient Keeper interface overlays a Meditech system.
