Description Excellent opportunity for a Board Certified Internist to join our client, a progressive and growing 270 member multi specialty group, as our Hospitalist Director. Our client has been providing services to residents in Stanislaus and San Joaquin communities for over 60 years. An 80/20 administration/clinical position, you will be responsible for supervision and leadership of a 25+ member Hospitalist Program at the Medical Center, a tertiary Level 2 trauma center, and oversight of our Stockton and Tracy programs. The ideal candidate must have experience in the leadership role of a hospitalist program with strong background and experience in utilization review, quality, recruitment, scheduling, patient satisfaction, and all other aspects of managing a large hospitalist department. Specific duties include but are not limited to: Monitoring and consistently working to achieve a high level of physician morale, acting as a liaison between physicians and Hospital leadership. Ensuring seamless physician coverage of the Program by scheduling team members on a monthly basis and making adjustments as needed. Is versed in and follows all applicable Labor laws and policies. Assuming primary responsibility for physician related performance improvement activities and initiatives as appropriate. Assisting with hospital medical staff and Emergency Department staff regarding the efficiency and effectiveness of the Program for specific outcomes and performance indicators, including ER efficiency as it relates to the Service. Participating in hospital and medical staff committees that are appropriate as a medical staff member and Program leader. Assuring the development of protocols and policies of the Program. Monitoring and evaluating the clinical abilities and performance of clinical staff members of the Program; working with Program administrator to effect improvements in clinical staff member performance. Coordinating with the Risk Managers to manage clinical risk issues. Recruitment/Orientation of New Providers. Competitive compensation and excellent benefits.
