Description An immediate Hospitalist opportunity is available starting mid-June 2010 at a 300 bed tertiary care hospital near downtown St. Paul, MN. The Hospitalist program was established over 5 years ago and consists of three different teams. There is an Acute Care team made up of Internal Medicine providers who manage the patients on the Med/Surg and ICU units, an Addiction Medicine Hospitalist team who manage the medical care of patients on the inpatient Chemical Dependency and Mental Health units, and a Neuro-Intensivist team who work exclusively in the ICU and manage the critical care needs of the Neuro ICU patients. The ICU work that the IM providers do is often in collaboration with an Intensivist although their ICUs are not closed and the IM providers can consult when they feel it is appropriate. The schedule is 7 on/7 off. They currently have two shifts 6PM-7AM and 7AM-6PM. They currently have 4 people on days Mon-Fri. They have one person on every night. Night coverage expectation is in-house for the 13 hours. They are recruiting for both day and night shifts. Typically the days start with 10 - 18 to round on and then will admit 1-3 patients. On nights they admit anywhere from 1-12 admits, but the average is 5-8. A Nocturnist position is available.
