Description Job/Practice Description: MOD work during nights and non-administrative hours: At nighttime and in non administrative hours, the MOD/Hospitalist is responsible for all admissions and takes calls about all hospitalized patients, including the patients in the community living center. He/she is responsible for responding to all patient care situations for inpatients. There is no particular need to do any procedures. Ventilator management may be needed, but size of the ICU is quite small with average census being two patients. The physician is responsible for the entry of clinical documentation to include note orders, medications, tests, and encounter form in the Computerized Patient Record System. Timely medical documentation is essential. Appropriate computer training will be provided and clinical supervision will be provided. MODs/Hospitalists also respond to code situations by rotation and provide back up to emergency department. Work Schedule: A night shift MOD works will typically be from 8 PM to 8 AM, 7 days a week. All work is in-house and will require physical presence at the facility. There are no on call responsibilities. Qualifications: Active state license, board certified or board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine, inpatient experience within the last two years is required. ACLS and BLS.
