Our client in western Massachusetts has a job opportunity for a locums Hospitalist. They need a BC/BE Internal Medicine or Internal Medicine/Pediatric locums Nocturnist/Admitter to jump in and help save the day starting in January and ongoing through March 2011. This job is great because it offers a flexible schedule of shifts starting at 7P to 7A with the client requesting a candidate with availability to work a minimum of three nights in a row during the week. If you can work weekend nights too, that's great, but not required. This is not a typical 7on/off work schedule because they have doctors on the schedule and have needs to the tune of 10-12 extra shifts a month that they need to fill. Because this is more of an admitting shift, the Nocturnist is not required to perform ICU procedures; they have sub-specialty support at night, plus they have 2-3 doctors in the Emergency Department every night that are able to help out with procedures. As a Nocturnist/Admitter, the provider will see approximately 6-12 admissions a night and then cross-cover the floor patients, which are typically 40 patients on the floor. The Nocturnist/Admitter will need to be comfortable responding to codes and rapid responses, as necessary, but again, the Emergency Department is the first-line responder for that. Locums privileging can be completed within 30 days with a clean record. If you live in western Massachusetts, you already know why it's a great place to live and work. If you don't, you'll be happy to know that this great community is located along the banks of the scenic Connecticut River and this area is recognized as a top-rated community for its distinctive downtown area, arts and culture, historic preservation, and outdoor activities. It's a perfect New England community to work in and the pay for this job is great! Need we say more? Oh, and the client will pay your travel and lodging! Give us a call!
