Fantastic locum tenens Hospitalist job opportunity in Florida! This is located in a beautiful area and a great community looking for additional coverage needs!! Area hospital wants Hospitalist group to start covering entire ER calls/admits. Hospitalist group of 3 is adding 4th permanent Hospitalist to group in July and still growing. Restructuring their scheduling, plan is to have 2 physicians on day shift handling rounding and admits and 1 physician on Nocturnist shift handling admits; goal of having a 5-6 physician rotating crew. Hospitalist group has a great system worked out for handling rounding and admits. Preferred schedule is 7on/7off, but they are flexible and will look at other amounts of coverage. They will also consider just Nocturnist coverage; strictly day coverage or a combination of both days and nights. Day shifts are from 7am-7pm and night shifts are 7pm-7am. They will only have on-site night coverage from Monday-Thursday. On Friday-Sunday, the night shift will be covered by off-site beeper call. Locums physician will be required to admit and follow patient through ICU; however, no procedures are required. Physician will not be required to respond to codes. 24/7 coverage with sub-specialty support (Pulm/CC, Cardiology, Radiology, Cath Labs, Chest Pain, etc.) will be present to do the procedures and perform consults. Patient census averages 15-20 patients per day; night shift is anticipated to be 5-10 admits per shift. When Hospitalist is working nights, they will not have to accept new admits after 6am in order to help them wrap up their shift and be able to leave the facility at 7am. Any admits after 6am will be held for one of the day Hospitalists coming in at 7am. The area has a variety of entertainment and scenery to keep you wanting more! From beaches to arts and culture and breathtaking golf courses, there is always something to see and do, as well as a great location and community to bring the family along!
