Description Tremendous Hospitalist locum tenens job opportunity just north of Charlotte, North Carolina. This 117-bed hospital is looking for two physicians to begin ongoing coverage as soon as possible. The schedule is a six week model of 7on/7off beginning on Tuesday and ending Monday. Every third shift will be an evening (7p-7a) while others are 7a-7p. There are six physicians total and three on at a time per week (two day and one night). No call is required for any shifts. Candidates must be comfortable with all standard procedures, American Board Certified if outside of five years, and can be an experienced Hospitalist that is either IM or FP. Hospital has a 10-bed ICU and physician would see 100% adult population. During the day shift an average of 13-16 PPD will be seen, including admits, rounding, discharges, rapid response, CVA, and code blues. Night shift would produce approx 2-8 patient encounters including admits, consults and transfers. PRN - call from the floor for patients that are admitted to the Hospitalist’s services. There is a fully available support staff with pulm, cardio pulm, anesthesia, and nursing staff. All codes to be run by locums Hospitalist; CVA in ER - Hospitalist do not have to respond. The ER is a Level III trauma center seeing 20,000 patients per year with 17 -18% admitted. Hospitalists would handle about 50% of that. Facility will be a certified stroke center in 2011.
