Will you be the locums Hospitalist who saves the day? Our client has an urgent job opportunity for a locum tenens Hospitalist for their small critical access facility, located in southeastern South Carolina, starting in August 2011 and ongoing until a permanent candidate can be identified, which can be up to nine months. The ideal candidate will be Board Certified in Internal Medicine with previous Hospitalist experience that is very comfortable with the advanced ICU procedures. The Hospitalist will fly solo during the day and there will be a Family Practitioner covering the nights. This facility is a Level III trauma center and there is limited sub-specialty support on-site. The schedule is 7A-7P, Monday-Friday, or Monday-Sunday, whichever the locums provider prefers, and it will be a week on, week off rotation with the other Hospitalist. Patient volume per day can be as low as 12 or as high as 20, which includes 1-3 admissions per day. The Emergency Department will provide backup support, as well as General Surgeons, Orthopedics, and Nurses. If a patient must be transferred out, there are two other facilities close by. When you are done working for the day, there is much to do in this beautiful community.
