Description

Harlem Hospital Center provides a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and family support services. The hospital is a 286 bed acute care facility and a designated Level 1 Trauma Center, with a full spectrum of specialty services, including a burn unit, an adult intensive care unit, a neonatal intensive care unit, a pediatric intensive care unit, stroke and a cardiac care unit.

We are currently recruiting an HIV Medical Director


Responsibilities:
ID physician will conduct and oversee all clinical and administrative activities of Harlem Hospital’s outpatient adult HIV and Infectious Diseases clinic (the Harlem Family Center) to ensure comprehensive patient care.  Physician will ensure compliance with regulatory standards, quality indicators, patient satisfaction, and the financial objectives of Harlem Hospital Center.  Will lead Clinic performance improvement activities and assist with quality improvement activities. Oversee HIV grant-funded programs and ensure coordination of outpatient ancillary services.  Physician will also attend on the inpatient ID consult service, overseeing ID fellows and Medicine residents, and follow a panel of outpatients in the ID clinic, including one evening clinic per month (Mondays until 7 PM).  Oversight of fellows includes some weekend call (usually by phone) while attending on inpatient ID service.  Position also includes teaching of fellows, residents and medical students. Will work closely with HIV Administrator who will assist with administrative duties.

 

Qualifications:

•Internal Medicine board certification and completion of Infectious Disease fellowship training required

•HIV specialist as per NY State guidelines
•Licensed and currently registered to practice as a Professional Medical Physician in New York State

•Demonstrated competence as a medical provider

•Demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development

 

Preferred Qualifications

•ID board certification preferred
•Two years Infectious Diseases and HIV clinical experience preferred
•Prior administrative experience preferred
