The physician will see an average of 12 patients per day in clinic. The physician will have the responsibility for, but not limited to, ordering diagnostic tests as indicated, prescribe medications, diagnose and treat a variety of conditions related to Infectious Diseases to include but not limited to: infections of the sinuses, heart, brain, lungs, urinary tract, bowel, bones and pelvic organs including those caused by bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites. The physician will be available to consult with other physicians on patient care in both the outpatient and inpatient setting. Outpatient work is scheduled. For inpatient work, up to 2 inpatient consults per day may be added – the typical is 1-2 per month. Inpatient work is very limited, however. There will be no on-call services required for this assignment. The physician MUST POSSESS: Prior experience in running and/or with significant oversight for an Infection Control Program, including Committee membership MRSA program knowledge, he physician PREFERABLY POSSESSES: Clinical Experience as a hospital-based ID specialist, Viral Hepatitis Experience, Applicable VA experience. The physician MAY POSSESS, HIV experience. Evidence of current TB surveillance status. Evidence of current Hepatitis B vaccination and titer.
