Open need for Primary Care Physician in New York
Start Date ASAP – for 3 months with an option to extend
1. LOCATION: Elmira, NY, Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC)
2. POSITION AVAILABLE: One Full Time Locum Primary Care physicians
3. ESTIMATED HOURS: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
4. DUTIES: Applicants will be required to provide primary care for a panel of patients at the CBOC located in Elmira, NY. Period of coverage will be three months from July 30, 2012 or the earliest date thereafter when the medical professional is cleared to begin contract performance, with 3 one month options to extend thereafter. Working hours will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday, except for Federal Holidays.
5. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Applicants must be Board Certified (preferred)/Eligible Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physicians. Physicians who are Board Certified in other specialties may be considered depending on prior experience.
6. QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must be a U.S. citizen to qualify for this position.
• Current certification in Basis Life Support (BLS)
• Have a degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
• Preference for prior VA experience.
• Must have current, full, active and unrestricted license as a physician in a State, Territory or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States or the District of Columbia.
• Must be Board Certified (preferred)/Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine (physicians who are Board Certified in other specialties may be considered depending on prior experience).
• Must be proficient in spoken and written English as required by 38 USC 7402(d) and 7407(d).
7. EQUIPMENT: Must be proficient with the use of computers.
8. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicant shall have no physicial limitations as related to walking, bending, lifting, standing or typing.
9. CONTRACT TERM: 3 months from July 31, 2012, or the date the medical professional is cleared to begin contract performance, and ending 3 months from the designated start date with 3 one month options to extend thereafter.
