***Civilian Contract Position at Fort Bliss***
FT Contract Position – January 2010-Decmber 2010, with the option to renew for 3 additional 1 year terms
Monday – Friday Schedule
Salary Based on Experience
Responsibilities:
This position is approximately 80 % administrative and 20% direct patient care. The administrative portion will focus on reviewing all documentation prepared for a medical evaluation board.
A medical evaluation board is the process by which a service member who has serious, chronic, and/or multiple health issues is reviewed to determine whether that service member is physically capable/incapable of continued military service. It is estimated that each file takes approximately 4 hours to review and contract provider must ensure all medical issues have been identified, properly addressed, documented, and tracked ensuring that the file is ready for presentation, in accordance with applicable directives (AR 600-60 and AR 635-40), to the actual medical evaluation board in such a state of completeness that it enables the board to make a determination with no further delay. The direct patient care portion of this requirement is due to the fact that, at times, it may become necessary for the contract provider to perform actual medical examinations of the service member. Additionally, and in order to allow the contract provider to maintain his/her direct patient care skills, contract provider may be assigned to see patients at one of the MTFs primary care clinics (i.e., Primary Adult Medical Clinic, Urgent Care Clinic, Soldier Family Medical Clinic, etc.) at least one day out of the week.
