Physician will be doing exclusively outpatient work and will be responsible for delivery of primary care to patients enrolled in VA Medical Center Fargo healthcare system. The provider will manage scheduled and unscheduled patients in the outpatient clinic setting, and all the care will be provided at Fargo or one of the affiliated CBOCs located within states of North Dakota and Minnesota, within a 300 mile radius. The work assignment to these clinics will depend upon the needs. Work will involve clinical care of outpatients, making a treatment plan, and entering orders electronically. Will also need to act on telephone messages that are received about outpatients assigned to the physician. Minor clinic based outpatient procedures can be done but are optional. : VA Medical Center in Fargo has a total of 42 acute beds (including psychiatry, surgical, general medical and ICU beds). Community Living Center has another 40-60 beds, with typical census of about 30 patients. VA medical center main campus has several primary care outpatient clinics and majority of subspecialty and surgical services. VAMC Fargo has several 9-10 outreach clinics called CBOC which serve as a referral base, besides the main campus. Total number of veterans enrolled in Fargo VA healthcare system is approximately 28000.
