Location is not a malpractice insurance crisis state. An average premium is less than $40,000 per year. There is a Level III NICU located on the same floor as the Labor and Delivery unit. The NICU is staffed by 4 neonatologists, one of whom is also a pediatric cardiologist. There is also a maternal transport team, which can bring patients to the hospital by helicopter or ground transport.
