MOD work during nights and non-administrative hours: At nighttime and in non administrative hours, the MOD/hospitalist is responsible for all admissions, and takes calls about all hospitalized patients, including the patients in community living center. He/she is responsible for responding to all patient care situations for inpatients.
MODs/Hospitalists also respond to code situations by rotation, and provides back up to emergency department; there is no particular need to do any procedures. Ventilator management may be needed, but size of the ICU is quite small with average census being two patients.
