A hospital in Missouri is losing one of their two Neonatologists. They are going to use locums until they can recruit another full-time replacement. This job opportunity is at a Level III NICU with an average daily census of 18. They typically have two babies on vents at any given time. This unit is also staffed with NNPs 24/7 and they attend most deliveries with the exception of very high risk or under 32 weeks. The hospital also employs pediatric surgeons and they do some surgery there as well. They also attend all transports as well. The director said they'd take whatever coverage they could get; a day, a weekend, or a week at a time. Their normal schedule is one week on/one week off, but he's very flexible. This is a 24-hour day with beeper call at night from a hotel. A permanent opportunity exists, as well, for the right candidate. This is an attractive position that offers a desirable call schedule that's perfect for a doctor with a young family. You can spend quality time with your family and still enjoy a competitive compensation package in a region at the base of the Ozark Mountains.
