Academic Neonatology (NICU Director) Opportunity in Greenville, NC!! The Department of Neonatology at the University School of Medicine (BSOM) is seeking a Medical Director as part of the Children?s Hospital expansion. The state-of-the-art facility will be the premier Children's Hospital for eastern North Carolina with more than 160 inpatient and outpatient beds. Facility highlights include: ? Single 50 bed NICU with 21 additional convalescent beds ? Pediatric Hematology/Oncology unit with state-of-the-art isolation capability ? Pediatric Operating Suite with pre and post anesthesia and short stay beds ? Outpatient procedural unit ? Pediatric Emergency Department opening Spring 2012 The Section of Neonatology is the sole provider of neonatal intensive care for the Health System in Eastern NC. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, a 50-bed Level III facility at the Hospital in Greenville, NC, provides state-of-the-art care to approximately 850 infants each year from the 29 counties of Eastern Carolina. This unit is the training ground for residents in Pediatrics, Medicine/Pediatrics, and Family Medicine, and for Neonatal-Perinatal Fellows. The unit is staffed by Neonatal Nurse Practitioners 24/7. Responsibilities include: Clinical Operations, Patient Distribution, Neonatal Nurse Practitioners, Practice Management, and Community Outreach Program. The candidate needs to have a strong interest/background in the demands of administering a Large NICU in a growing Children's Hospital. The Departmentof Pediatrics at the School of Medicine consists of over 60 faculty members across 17 subspecialties. Current PediatricSubspecialty supportincludes: Neonatology, Hospitalists, GI, Endocrinology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Intensivists, Pulmonology, Hematology/Oncology, Pediatric Surgery, Radiology, Anesthesiology, Neurology, Cardiac ENT & Urology Surgical expertise.
