We are seeking an OBGYN for a group practice opportunity in the San Francisco Bay area. We are looking for the following:
Qualifications:
? Board-certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology, or Board eligible and certification within 5 years
? Valid California state medical license and valid DEA license
? At least 2 years? experience in clinical obstetrics/gynecology
? Preferred: prior experience and comfort in safety-net health care system
? Desired: high motivation, self-starter, team player
Responsibilities:
1. Performs medically necessary services and procedures of the type and nature customarily included within the Physician?s specialty for all inpatients and outpatients with diverse patient population and commitment to quality care for the underserved.
2. Coordinates services with patient education, preventive care, nutrition and WIC services (County Women?s, Infants and Children?s Program).
3. Supervise medical care provided by house staff, certified nurse midwives, physician assistants and nurse practitioners assigned to the Department.
4. Participate in the review of quality of patient care rendered in the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology within the quality assurance and performance improvement plans.
5. Ensure that all patient encounter forms are properly coded for billing purposes.
6. Provide such other professional services as may reasonably be required by the Chief of Gynecology, Chairman of Maternal Child Health or designee.
7. The individual fulfilling the position requirements will be expected to perform a combination of the following activities, as required by the Chairman:
a. Inpatient hospital shifts
b. Outpatient clinic sessions
c. Surgery block
d. Women?s Urgent Care Clinic
e. On-call for one 24 hour period (from home)
8. Participate in clinical research activities, as appropriate.
