We are currently seeking a tele intraoperative Neurology Physician. The Staff Neurologist selects the monitoring modalities, electrode placements and decides other neurophysiological and clinical issues relevant to the intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring of patients undergoing surgical procedures. The Staff Neurologist directs the Neuromonitorist during the surgical procedure, identifies and confirms neurophysiological signal changes, directs the neuromonitorists regarding these and consults either directly or through the neuromonitorists with the surgeon regarding the diagnostic possibilities underlying these.
The staff neurologist decides on which changes are or are not of significance and should be reported to the surgeon and/or other members of the surgical team. They may also consult with the anesthesiologist and their staff regarding anesthesia selection and/or neurophysiological signal changes. The neurologist is responsible for completing reports on patients either during the procedure or within 24 hours of receipt of data. The Staff Neurologist may be required to interpret cerebrovascular data, after completion of training in TCD by SMS and may be required to interpret diagnostic EEG evaluations, if the Physician has completed appropriate Fellowship training in Clinical Neurophysiology or has equivalent experience.
