Lincoln, Maine:  This region is home to 13 lakes and thousands of miles of accessible recreational woodland and waterways.  It appeals to those seeking the solitude and the beauty of nature.  At the same time, it’s within a half-hour drive to Maine’s third largest city – Bangor!   Lincoln itself hosts a number of charming shops and unique eateries, and is an easy commute to Maine’s flagship campus—the University of Maine in Orono.  Lincoln’s 75 square miles, with Maine’s highest peak, Mount Katahdin looming on the horizon hosts every manner of Maine wildlife and the water runs clear, cold and deep. The Penobscot River, one of the premier Bass fisheries in the US, runs right through it.  Winters are snowy, but the snowmobile trails run right through town too.  The summer months often boast temperatures in the 80s and 90s. Maine’s border with Canada is about an hour away, and Quebec City is just a day’s drive. The mid-coast of Maine can be reached in two hours.  There are many reasons people stay in Lincoln:  The region is a wonderful place to call home, with great schools, safe, family-friendly neighborhoods and affordable housing. Farm land, large-acreage wood lots and private waterfront property are still available here and affordable!
