We are assisting a hospital in the recruitment of a third OBGYN. Below are some points of interest:
Hospital currently employs two physicians and, as of August, a mid wife. They seek to employ a third physician.
Call will essentially be 1 in 2, as one of the current physicians will have a clinic only practice starting in July 2012. The other physician has about 2 years of post grad experience.
The specifics of the call will be determined by the physicians, as at this time, the two physicians are taking call every other week. Again, physicians can determine if the every other week schedule meets their needs, or, if they would prefer an every other night schedule, etc.
Physicians are currently doing about 400 deliveries per year. The practice itself is about 60/40, ob vs. gyn.
Practice is located next to the hospital in a large office suite, offering mammography, ultra sound, and more.
Hospital is a 25 bed critical access facility, with most of the 48 physicians on staff being employed by the hospital, helping to make for pleasant medical staff interactions.
Facility has specialties such as general and orthopedic surgery, anesthesiology, primary care, cardiology, oncology, radiology, ent, and more on active staff.
Hospital offers a competitive starting base salary, RVU incentive plan, and comprehensive benefits package, (including occurrence malpractice). In addition, the area normally qualifies for an attractive student loan repayment mechanism.
