Join a group of 3 ophthalmologist MDs, 3 optometrists ODs and a staff with 32 members at 3 offices. Their philosophy is to provide total patient care; 24/7 when needed. Follow-up care is provided for surgical patients referred by optometrists. The Optometry shop is available in Mountain Eye Associate offices and they have close ties to Haywood Regional Medical Center; 140 bed facility. The operating hours are 8:15 - 5 PM at Clyde, M-F/ West, closed Tues/ Canton; closed Thurs. Call will be 1:3 with Dr. Hartzell when the new Ophthalmologist joins the group. The area has a small percentage from diverse ethnic backgrounds, the practice was established in 1977 has continually grown, with good market share. They average 35 new patients per week. The group is offering a partnership track in comprehensive ophthalmology practice with large surgical volume. One day per week the O.R's are blocked for 2 surgeons - averages 20 surgery patients a week. The main office is adjacent to hospital in Clyde and the other offices in Canton and West Waynesville are open 4 days per week each with an average of 30-45 patients a day in office they offer friendly, compassionate/ Primary concern for patient care in an entrepreneurial spirit. All ophthalmology procedures except for surgical retina are preformed and Lasik procedures are done in the practice, any Glaucoma experience is helpful. They are all enthusiastic about the quality of life available in this community. Located in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Haywood County contains portions of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Blue ridge Parkway, the Appalachian Trail, and large areas of National forest. Because of our altitude, we have very mild summers and because of our southern latitude, we also normally have mild winters.
