Pediatric Critical Care and Hospitalist Service
The Pediatric Critical Care and Hospitalist Service (PCCHS) at Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is recruiting a full time pediatric critical care specialist.
The PCCHS is staffed by two full-time pediatric critical care specialists. The medical staff is assisted by mid-level providers. The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) is a 5-bed unit that serves the critical care needs of medical, surgical, and trauma patients in the pediatric department.
Avera McKennan Hospital and University Health Center is a 545-bed facility recognized for excellence in regional tertiary care. The center includes 23-bed Pediatric Unit, and a 27-bed level III NICU. The medical staff has a full spectrum of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialists, in addition to the hospital-associated services. The hospital also has a well developed transport program including; ground, rotor, and fixed wing with dedicated teams for both neonatal and pediatrics.
This opportunity places strong emphasis on clinical services and program growth. Responsibilities include clinical coverage of the PCCHS. Clinical services provided by the PCCHS include; coverage of the PICU, the pediatric hospitalist service, and an in patient procedural sedation service. Coverage will be shared with other members of the Service.

The position offers a compensation package which includes a competitive salary with bonus opportunities, a benefits menu, and malpractice insurance. Candidates must be board certified in pediatrics and either BC/BP in pediatric critical care medicine or possess extensive experience in pediatric critical care medicine
