No visas. BC/BE fellowship trained hand (or experienced) surgeon needed to join 2 other part-time plastic surgeons who are not fellowship trained in hand. The facility needs someone who does trauma, replants, etc. as well as elective hand cases. They will consider Plastic Surgeons, General Surgeons or Orthopedic Surgeons. Call would be shared but the more advanced cases would go to the fellowship trained hand surgeon.
The hospital is a small, 25 bed critical access hospital with no ICU and they use CRNA's. Years ago it was purchased by a Hand Surgeon who built it up to a 5 physician hand surgery practice. Over the years many retired and the last one recently passed away. At the time of his passing the last hand surgeon was making $500K annually. He had a very strong work ethic and would take nightly call and do weekend surgeries if needed. Hand Surgery is the only surgery done at the facility so you would have the OR to yourself. They currently have 2 Plastic Surgeons that come from a neighboring community to do hand cases on a part-time basis. They are willing to continue helping and offering support for call and complex cases to the new hand surgeon. They need a hard worker who is willing to take call and do complex hand cases. They've done replants and graphing in the past.
Financially, they are able to offer a guaranteed salary of $250-$275K with a full benefits package.
