Join the only inpatient youth psychiatric unit in northern Maine. As this is the only facility of its kind north of Bangor you can expect to see and treat a wide spectrum of cases. The 7 bed unit is staffed by a team of 20 doctors, nurses and social workers and offers services in an area where such services were unavailable beforehand. Very competitive compensation and benefits are being offered to attract only the best within the field.
Aroostook, named from a Native American word meaning "Beautiful River" is the state’s largest and northernmost county and is affectionately known as the Crown of Maine. Nearly 7,000 square miles provide the resident with vast stretches of unexplored wilderness, more than 2,000 lakes, streams and ponds, the famous Allagash Wilderness Waterway and the mighty St. John River and a number of unique multicultural communities. French Acadians who settled the St. John Valley, Swedish immigrants who founded the villages of New Sweden and Stockholm, the Micmac tribe in Presque Isle, and the Maliseet Band in Houlton all call this area home. Monuments and museums, as well as powwows, festivals and fairs celebrate the traditions and rich heritage of this region. It is one of the most unique areas within our nation.
