Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center in Dothan Alabama is currently recruiting a new Child Psychiatrist. The position duties include admission evaluations and assessments, treatment team management, daily care of patients and administrative duties as related to patient care in our inpatient and residential treatment program services. There is an option for the position to be split part-time in inpatient and residential and part-time in outpatient as well.
The patient caseload for the new physician will be children and adolescents with diverse diagnoses. Physician positions at Laurel Oaks offer opportunity for professional and personal growth. Laurel Oaks Behavioral Health Center is a specialized provider of Acute Psychiatric Hospitalization and longer term Intensive Residential Treatment services for children and adolescents ages four to eighteen.
Our goals are to provide a comprehensive assessment of children, to understand their needs, and to provide short-term treatment and aftercare planning.
Laurel Oaks offers specialized treatment services for youth with severe psychiatric disorders, including those with additional challenges such as mild or moderate mental retardation or other cognitive delay, abuse and/or neglect victimization, substance abuse problems, and/ or high risk behaviors (i.e. suicidal/ self harming, assaultive, running away, etc.).A comprehensive array of assessment and treatment services are offered on site including psycho-social assessment, psychiatric evaluation, medication management (when indicated), individual, group and family therapies, group psycho-education (with focus on development of social, communication, and daily living skills, problem solving and anger management/ coping skills), family support and education.
