Unique opportunity for an addiction psychiatrist to assume a leadership role in the expansion of a large chemical dependency service that includes inpatient, outpatient and community detoxification, rehabilitation and maintenance therapies. The successful candidate will be appointed director of the service with the aim of continuing the development of a state of the art service that treats a diverse population with the medical and psychiatric comorbidities that are common in this population. The candidate will have the opportunity to develop a fellowship in addiction psychiatry, to teach residents and medical students, and to develop an academic program in addition to working with a highly skilled interdisciplinary team of psychiatrists, internists, family physicians, nurse practitioners and certified substance abuse counselors. A full time faculty appointment commensurate with accomplishments is available in the Department of Psychiatry. Protected academic time may be available to highly qualified individuals. Call 1:4. 132 inpatient psychiatry beds, including a 16-bed inpatient adolescent unit and an 18-bed inpatient geriatric psychiatry unit; 53 chemical-dependency beds, including 35 rehab (recently increased from 20) and 18 detox; a Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP); three chemical-dependency outpatient centers (including one for vocational rehab); six extended-observation beds (EOBs), with one dedicated for adolescents; and an on-site outpatient psychiatry clinic.
