If you are looking for a Psychiatry position where the summers are only moderately warm and the winters are extremely mild, then North Carolina is the place! This hospital-based program has a job opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible General Psychiatrist to replace a member of the team who is relocating. Patients are seen in both inpatient and outpatient settings, but how much of each is negotiable. Outpatient appointments are a mix of all ages; inpatient units house adult and geriatric patients. Call is shared 1:5 in the adult unit; rounding is required on the weekends, but after-hours call is handled by phone. Additionally, there is an opportunity to do some teaching with this position, as it is affiliated with a well-known school of medicine. Compensation is competitive and in addition to the base salary, there is an easily attainable RVU bonus. While Greenville, NC, Norfolk, VA, and Raleigh/Durham are an easy drive for shopping, fine dining, theatre, and major sporting events, this community is much more laid-back and slower paced. The mountains, ocean, and the Outer Banks are also easily accessible for the numerous activities they provide.
