Primary duties include serving as a Treatment Team Physician to the Residential Care Department. Principal duties include serving as a treatment team physician and providing all levels of psychiatric care and treatment to veterans participating in residential rehabilitation programs. Provide all levels of psychiatric care and treatment to the veteran population as assigned. The primary goal is to meet the treatment needs and concerns of the patients by providing effective diagnostic care and appropriate treatment, while maintaining high standards of quality care. Assignments may include specialized professional service programs such as Inpatient Long Term Psychiatry Unit 3 West – 29 Beds) with a focus on recovery placement in an appropriate community setting, and the new Recovery Unit (South – 30 Beds) offering high intensity hospital treatment for veterans. The Psychiatrist will appropriately document all aspects of care provided through the use of the Medical Center’s Computerized Patient Record System (eCPRS). This responsibility includes, but is not limited to, initial assessments, history and physical examination, mental status examination, daily progress notes, interdisciplinary treatment team notes, medication orders, plan of care, patient education, and discharge summaries. All required documentation will be timely and in accordance with the standards established by the Medical Center and JCAHO guidelines.
