Job/Practice Description:
Applicant will provide outpatient psychiatric services in a busy outpatient mental health clinic. Outpatient consultant providing diagnostic interview, documentation and follow-up. Evaluation & assessment of patients referred for consultation, schedule with clinic for follow-up or refer to primary provider with suggestions for care. Monitor clinical response to treatment for outpatients and adjust levels of care as necessary. Monitor and Differentiate patient type of medication effects/side effects. Counseling/Patient Education regarding lifestyle and impact on psychiatric/psychological state. Consultation with mental health staff. Consultant will meet all expected performance monitors required by the VHA of staff.
Work Schedule:
16 hours per week, at the Oswego CBOC from 0800 to 1600 hrs.
16 hours per week, at the Syracuse VA BHOC from 0800 to 1600 hrs for rural health tele-psychiatry.
8 hours per week, at the Syracuse VA BHOC from 0800 to 1600 hrs.
8:00 am – 4:30 pm (1/2 hour lunch
Qualifications:
Must hold a current license to practice medicine in a State, territory or Commonwealth of the United States or the District of Columbia. Must be Board Certified or Board eligible in applicable field. Must have graduated from approved School of medicine. Must be a United States Citizen. Must be approved by the Professional Standards Board: VA Healthcare Network Upstate New York with regards to clinical privileges. Must have no past or pending instances of malpractice or disciplinary actions. Licenses held shall be full and unrestricted licenses.
