Requirements:
Physician must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of California with a current and valid Physician license issued by the Medical Board of California. Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
Contractor shall provide services as permitted within the scope of practice for a Licensed Psychiatrist which includes, but are not limited to the following:
• Provide direct psychiatric services, comprehensive evaluations, diagnosis and treatment, including prescribing and administering psychotropic medications.
• Complete psychiatric evaluations/diagnostic assessment evaluations
• Prescribe only the medications listed in the CDCR pharmaceutical formulary, monitor medication, be aware of possible drug interactions and problems associated with pre-existing medical conditions.
• Provide face to face therapy, make rounds and review patient progress
• Develop individual treatment plans and coordinate professional services
• Provide and maintain adequate medical documentation for the ward/patient’s medical record
• Work as a team member with correctional and professional staff under the guidelines of the CDCR
